There are a few things to do in Simi Valley that can make your visit to the area truly memorable. From unique landmarks to a wide variety of outdoor activities, there are plenty of ways to have fun in this beautiful town.

Go Hiking in the Santa Susana Mountains

Simi Valley is home to several scenic hiking trails that offer great views and a little exercise for the whole family. These include a trail at the Santa Susana Pass State Historical Park that allows hikers to experience the rugged landscape and brittle rock formations of the Santa Susana Mountains.

This trail is perfect for those who love hiking and mountain climbing. The path is easy to navigate and can be completed in an hour or so, depending on your fitness level.

If you want to enjoy a round of golf, there are several excellent courses in Simi Valley that offer incredible scenery and challenging holes. Some of these courses were designed by top golfers, including Pete Dye and Fred Couples.

The Strathearn Historical Park and Museum is a must-visit attraction in Simi Valley. The site includes a replica of the White House Rose Garden and the South Lawn, as well as exhibits highlighting the history of the United States Secret Service. The museum is free and open daily.

Explore Grandma Prisbrey’s Bottle Village

The Bottle Village was built by Tressa Prisbrey, an artist who worked hard to build one fanciful structure after another from recycled bottles. The village is one of California’s Twentieth Century Folk Art Environments and is definitely worth a visit.

For some enlightening history, visitors can also visit the Santa Susana Field Laboratory, where pioneering nuclear reactors were tested by both Atomics International and Rocketdyne (originally a division of North American Aviation). The Sodium Reactor Experiment was the first reactor to generate electricity, while the Boiling Water Reactor experiments proved that the boiling water process could be used to generate electricity.

Those interested in learning about the city’s industrial history can also visit the Santa Susana Depot and Model Railroad Museum, which is a historic railroad station that still serves as a train station on the Southern Pacific Railroad. The museum features a variety of interactive displays that are sure to be enjoyed by all ages.

Play Laser Tag at Lazertag Extreme

The Lazertag Extreme is a fun place for families to play laser tag and has multiple levels of gameplay spread across more than 5,000 square feet. They also have a full-service restaurant and an arcade that kids will love.

Have a Fine Dining Experience at Beto’s Italian Bistro

For an authentic Italian meal, this is the best place in Simi Valley to go. The menu has a wide array of dishes that are sure to please everyone, including pastas and meat entrees.

Aside from being a restaurant, this place is also known for its delicious desserts. Their famous apple pie is a must-try and their lemon cake is also a treat.
