Wooster Mountain State Park

Located in Danbury, Connecticut, Wooster Mountain State Park boasts 230 acres of green space. The park is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Featuring several miles of trails, the state park is a great spot for an afternoon of hiking, biking and bird watching. The park also offers target and trap shooting. Its best features include the Ives Trail, a 20-mile regional trail that crosses Wooster Mountain and links several open spaces in Bethel, Ridgefield and Redding.

Shelter Rock Winery

Located in Danbury, Connecticut, Shelter Rock Winery and Wine Making Club is operated by Giovanni Petretta, a well-known Italian wine maker. He has over five years of experience in the wine industry and offers expertise and knowledge to local wine lovers. The family has been making wine in Italy for almost 500 years.

The Shelter Rock Winery is open to the public and hosts private parties and events. The winery produces world-class wines. In addition to its winery tours and tastings, Shelter Rock Winery also has a wine-making club. Members can purchase grapes, juice, equipment and supplies and then make their own wine. They can choose which varieties they want to make and customize their own labels for bottles of wine.

The Shelter Rock Winery and Wine Making Club will host their annual Harvest Celebration in the fall. The members will get to taste the wines, participate in the winemaking process, and learn the artisan techniques of wine making. They will also receive 46 to 48 bottles of their own wines.

Ives Concert Park

Located in Danbury, Connecticut, Ives Concert Park is a unique performing arts destination. This outdoor amphitheater features a wide variety of events that take place throughout the year. These include music and theater performances, and many other summertime events. There is also an assortment of hiking trails that are open to the public.

Ives Concert Park is located on the western side of the campus of Western Connecticut State University. The venue is located on 40 wooded acres and boasts a number of unique features. The Ives Trail Greenway is a 20-mile hiking trail that passes through four towns and crosses private and public lands.

Barbarie’s Black Angus Grill

Founded in 1961 by Jim Barbarie, the Barbarie’s Black Angus Grill is a family owned steakhouse. This restaurant has gained a reputation for providing top quality beef and excellent service. The owners work with some of the world’s leading meat suppliers.

Danbury Fair Mall

Located in the heart of greater Danbury, the Danbury Fair Mall is the largest shopping center in New England. With more than 180 shops and restaurants, it’s one of the premier shopping destinations in the Northeast. The mall is home to several notable name brands such as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Lord & Taylor. It also houses the Golf Lounge 18 and the Cheesecake Factory.

A recent round of approvals includes a proposed Mercedes-Benz dealership on Miry Brook and Sugar Hollow roads. The former Pier 1 Imports site was also approved for a drive-thru Chipotle restaurant. The former Sports Authority site is currently under consideration for a Nissan-Infinity dealership. The mall itself is also home to DICK’s Sporting Goods, Primark, and JCPenney.

The Danbury Fair has a reputation for being a shopper’s haven, and Target is planning to open its second store in the state in the coming years. The company has been busy building its retail empire, and has already announced plans for an under construction store on Connecticut’s hottest property, the Danbury Town Center. The company has not yet set an exact date for its grand opening, but a representative said the retailer intends to open the store in about two years.
