Mount Carmel

Located in the Northern Israel, Mount Carmel is a coastal mountain range. It rises out of the Mediterranean Sea and is surrounded by green landscapes and luxuriant vegetation. It is a place of religious importance and beauty, and has a rich history.

Before the time of Elijah, there were religious communities on the mountain. One group of monks was known as the “son of the prophets.” Their spiritual link to the prophet was traced to the biblical stories of Elijah and Elisha.

In the Old Covenant, Mount Carmel was known as a place of refuge. It was also used as an assembly for people to worship. It was later used as an altar to the goddess Ashtoreth.

Palladium concert hall

Located in Carmel, Indiana, the Palladium concert hall is the perfect setting for live music performances. Designed to offer an intimate concert experience, the Palladium will provide seating for up to 1,600 guests. This concert hall features an adjustable acoustic canopy system, sound-reflecting walls, and glass panels that can be raised or lowered to control the volume of sound.

The building was commissioned by the City of Carmel and was paid for with tax-increment financing (TIF) money. It is estimated that the complex will cost approximately $7 million to operate when all the venues are in operation.

Palladium is the only true concert hall in the region. It is also home to the Great American Songbook Foundation, a nonprofit organization that makes a museum quality archive of American popular songs available to the public. The Foundation is headed by Michael Feinstein, who plans to host an international Great American Songbook Festival.

Midtown Plaza

Located along Monon Boulevard, Midtown Plaza in Carmel, Indiana is a great public gathering place. It serves as the gateway between the Arts & Design District and the City Center. It also anchors the development of the surrounding neighborhood, including restaurants and breweries.

The area was once an industrial corridor. Today, it has been transformed into a family-friendly destination with plenty of outdoor fun for the whole family. The park features a spray plaza, bocce ball courts, big screen entertainment and neighborhood green spaces.

A few of the shops in the area include the Penn & Beech Candle Co., which specializes in custom hand-poured candles and has a large selection of products. The establishment also offers beer and wine. Its main level patio has a panoramic view of the Monon and its construction. The second floor has several dining options, including a food court style restaurant.

Arts & Design District

Located in Carmel, Indiana, the Arts & Design District is a collection of over two hundred businesses. These include antique dealers, interior design showrooms, boutiques, and restaurants. The area is also home to many festivals.

One of the most popular events is the annual Rain on Main paint-a-barrel contest. Participants are encouraged to decorate a barrel and then post it on the Rain on Main Facebook page. The winner is decided by a panel of judges, and the winning artist receives a cash prize. The barrels will be displayed on Main Street next week.

Other notable events in the Arts & Design District include the Second Saturday Gallery Walks, CarmelFest, and the Art of Wine. These events bring together 130+ artists displaying art in a variety of mediums.

Schools

Located just north of Indianapolis, Carmel is one of the most affluent communities in the Midwest. It has a population of 79,191 as of the 2010 census. It’s also home to one of the highest concentrations of top-ranked public schools in Indiana.

For instance, the Carmel Monon Community Center is located in the old train station on the Monon. The facility cost $118 million. It’s where you’ll find ancient art from Mesopotamia and Greece as well as a library and museum.

A recent field trip by the Carmel High School’s History of Art class included a virtual visit to the Morgan Library and Museum in New York City.
