Maine Craft Weekend (MCW) is an opportunity for the public to explore the life and work of Maine’s craft artists and businesses. This statewide tour is an educational, community-oriented, family friendly event that takes place each October.
Participating sites include individual potters’ home studios, glass blowing studios, outdoor installation sites, non-profit craft organizations, craft-based schools, and craft beer breweries.
This year’s MCA Master Craft Artist Award winner, Penobscot basket maker Theresa Secord of Waterville, was honored for a career of excellence in her own craft work as well as deep contributions to traditional craft in Maine. Her passion for her native baskets and dedication to her local craft community made her a natural choice for this award.
