Taste of Waterville
The Taste of Waterville is a day-long affair that showcases the best that downtown has to offer. This awe-inspiring event is a collaboration between the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and its member restaurants.
In a nutshell, the event features specially prepared food, live music and a beer garden. The most impressive part is that this aficionado-worthy event is free to attend. It’s also a great way to discover new restaurants and a chance to sample some of the finest craft beverages the state has to offer! The event is also the perfect way to spend a warm summer afternoon. Maine Craft Weekend
Maine Craft Weekend (MCW) is an opportunity for the public to explore the life and work of Maine’s craft artists and businesses. This statewide tour is an educational, community-oriented, family friendly event that takes place each October.
Participating sites include individual potters’ home studios, glass blowing studios, outdoor installation sites, non-profit craft organizations, craft-based schools, and craft beer breweries.
This year’s MCA Master Craft Artist Award winner, Penobscot basket maker Theresa Secord of Waterville, was honored for a career of excellence in her own craft work as well as deep contributions to traditional craft in Maine. Her passion for her native baskets and dedication to her local craft community made her a natural choice for this award.
The Family Festival is a free event for families with children. It features live entertainment, a children’s area, and refreshments.
Education is also an important part of the Waterville culture. The town is home to two private colleges that offer a variety of activities and experiences for students.
The city is a great place for year-round family fun. With miles of trails, a playground, and ball fields, it’s easy to find something to do. In addition, the town is a vibrant center for arts and cinema. In the summer, families can enjoy a day of tube or canoeing down the Saco River. During the winter, there are snowshoeing and cross-country skiing options.

The South End National Night Out is a great way to celebrate the first weekend of August. This festival is held at Green Street Park and features a variety of fun activities.
Besides the usual suspects like pizza and beer, this event also highlights the city’s efforts to support and engage young people. This includes a Summer Lunch Program, an art gallery and a teen center.
