Things to Do in Wareham Massachusetts

Located in Plymouth County, Wareham is a charming little town with a rich history. It’s also one of the most popular towns on the Cape Cod. You’ll find a number of unique attractions and events that make it an excellent place to visit. If you’re looking for a little adventure, consider kayaking down the Cranberry Highway or exploring the Water Wizz of Cape Cod.

Cranberry Highway

Located on Cranberry Highway in Wareham, Massachusetts, the Cranberry Highway Family Style Restaurant is open for pickup. The restaurant serves pizza, Italian and seafood dishes. The restaurant is also closed for inside dining until further notice.

The Cranberry Highway is located in the Strip Commercial (CS) Zoning District. The property has a frontage of 213 feet, a lot area of 8,000 square feet and meets the lot shape factor requirements of Section 615 of the Town of Wareham Zoning Bylaw.

The construction of the Cranberry Highway began over three years ago. Work has included moving utility poles, adding sidewalks and widening the road. There has also been construction on the road from 500 feet east of Tyler Avenue to the intersection with Red Brook Road.

Water Wizz of Cape Cod

Located on the Cranberry Highway, Water Wizz of Cape Cod is a family owned and operated water park. In fact, it’s the largest in southeastern Massachusetts. It features a variety of water slides, games, food, and entertainment. Water Wizz is also a family friendly business that caters to children of all ages. It’s also not too far from Plymoth and Plymouth, making it a nice day trip.

In fact, Water Wiz is one of the oldest water parks in New England. Established in 1982, the park has grown in size over the years. Today, there are over a dozen slides to choose from. The park also boasts a 76-foot water slide and a wave pool. Aside from water slides, there are also several pools to choose from.

Nemasket Kayak Center

Located in Wareham, Massachusetts, the Nemasket Kayak Center is the brainchild of an entrepreneur who grew up in the area. In fact, he worked for Canoe Passage Outfitters in Raynham, and has been a lifelong paddler. His new venture is located at a local farm, and offers kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards for rent. In addition to the water sport, the business owner is also collaborating with the local Chamber of Commerce to plan future events.

The Nemasket Kayak Center is also partnered with the Buzzards Bay Coalition, and will offer a free 4th of July Car Show to the first 50 people. The Center is also planning a volunteer event coordinator and a new rental operation on site. The center is located at 146 Tihonet Rd., and offers kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and other water sports.

Located on the coast of Plymouth County, Wareham, Massachusetts is a coastal town that was first settled by Europeans in 1678. It was incorporated in 1739. It is located just west of Cape Cod. It has a population of 23,303.
