Kalamazoo Valley Museum

Located in the heart of Kalamazoo, Michigan, the Kalamazoo Valley Museum serves as a cultural and educational hub for the community. A hands-on museum, it is a place to learn, see, and hear, with exhibits that range from science to history.

The Kalamazoo Valley Museum offers free general admission, and features a growing stable of shows, films, and activities. Visitors can also explore the universe on Space Discovery Days. The museum’s collection includes over 50,000 items, including artifacts from around the world and Southwest Michigan. The museum also hosts 40 nationally touring exhibitions. These exhibits span over two centuries of local and regional history.

The museum’s collection dates back to 1881, when Kalamazoo businessman Donald O. Boudeman donated an Egyptian mummy to the Kalamazoo Public Museum. In the 1930s, Albert M. Todd donated artifacts to the museum.

The museum features exhibits on science, history, and technology. The museum also has a Challenger Learning Center, which highlights the crew of the space shuttle. Visitors can also explore the human body and the energy that is present in all of us.

Kalamazoo Nature Center

Located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the Kalamazoo Nature Center (KNC) is a nonprofit organization that preserves an area of more than 1,000 acres of woodlands, wetlands, prairies, and ponds. It was designed by eminent 20th century architect Alden B. Dow.

The KNC specializes in preschool activities and conservation programs. They also offer environmental education programs for homeschoolers and organizes summer camps for children of all ages. The Kalamazoo Nature Center is a perfect venue for a wedding photo session. The center also hosts a variety of public programs, including the Kids’ Raccoon Run. They also boast an auditorium and several outdoor exhibits.

Kalamazoo Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra

Founded in 2003 by guitarist Jackie Zito and guitarist Darren Kusic, the Kalamazoo Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra is a group of musicians who play an eclectic assortment of stringed instruments. They’ve played classical music, but also the less likely to be found in a music store. The orchestra has performed classical music and has also sponsored workshops with international mandolin virtuosos.

The Kalamazoo Mandolin and Guitar orchestra has a corporate office in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The group performs at several locations in and around Kalamazoo. One of their concerts will be during Art Hop at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. Other concert venues include the Kalamazoo Valley Museum and the First Baptist Church in Kalamazoo.

The Kalamazoo Mandolin & Guitar Orchestra has received zero ratings. Despite the lack of positive reviews, the group has been well-received by the local community and has been able to make a mark on the local music scene. It has also won several awards, including the Kalamazoo Chamber Music Competition.

Kalamazoo House B&B
