Longway Planetarium

Located in Flint, Michigan, the Longway Planetarium is one of the largest planetariums in the country. It features astronomy and laser light shows, as well as educational programs. It’s an excellent destination for family science workshops and school field trips.

Planetarium shows feature astronomy demonstrations, stereophonic sound, and sky co-ordinates. They may also include solar eclipses, comets, and meteor showers.

The Longway Planetarium is also a multimedia theater. A few years ago, it added new seating and a state-of-the-art projections system. It features a 60-foot dome with 130 seats. It offers special showings for groups of 20 or more.

The building’s interior features an artwork created by world-renowned space artist Michael Carroll. It also offers telescope workshops and astronomy classes. It also hosts special shows and community events.

Bluebell Beach splash ground

Located on Mott Lake, Bluebell Beach is a popular county park. It features a splash pad, pavilions, playgrounds, and seasonal swimming. The splash pad is free to use. However, parents are required to monitor their children.

The splash pad is designed to shoot water from the ground in a timed sequence. There are 14 shaded areas, including a patio area with picnic tables. Bluebell Beach also offers a fishing dock and pavilions for rent.

Bluebell Beach is located on Mott Lake, near the Flint River. There is a playground, pavilions, and a fishing dock. During the summer season, Bluebell Beach is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. It is open Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend each year.

A new splash pad controller makes it easier for kids to use the splash pad. Last year, a non-slip surface was added to the pad for safety.

Flint Farmers’ Market

Located in the heart of historic downtown Flint, the Flint Farmers’ Market is more than just a produce market. It is a community hub with culinary creations, live entertainment, demonstration kitchens, and more. The Flint Farmers’ Market hosts hundreds of events each year, as well as offering public space for rent. The market is managed by the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation, which also manages the federal Double Food Bucks program and Project Fresh.

The Flint Farmers’ Market is a year-round event that takes place three days a week. The market features more than 50 vendors inside and out. There is a wine store, a cheese shop, a meat counter, a bakery, and a coffee shop. The market also offers curbside pick-up. In addition, there is a Michigan goods store, a regular plant vendor, and a demonstration kitchen.

Riverbank Park

Located in downtown Flint, Riverbank Park was constructed in the late ’70s. The park has canals, fountains, a water wall, an amphitheater, and market stalls. This park was designed by Lawrence Halprin and his team of landscape architects.

In addition to providing access to the Flint River, Riverbank Park is a key component of the Flint Riverfront Restoration Project. The project is being led by Genesee County Parks and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. This project will include removing the Hamilton Dam and building a walking bridge. It will also include naturalizing the riverfront and improving wildlife habitat. In addition, Riverbank Park will receive a scenic overlook, improved fishing access, a kayak launch, and a better connection to the Iron Belle Trail.

Throughout the past decade, the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) has been instrumental in funding Flint parks and other outdoor recreation projects. This fund uses proceeds from Michigan oil and gas leases and mineral leases to pay for projects in every Michigan county. Its disbursements have topped $20 million in Genesee County alone.
