Located in northeastern Ohio, Alliance was formed by the merger of three small settlements. Those communities were Liberty, Freedom and Williamsport. The first white settlers to Alliance were Quakers from Virginia in 1805. These three communities developed along two major railroads. The name Alliance was derived from the intersection of the Cleveland & Pennsylvania railroads.
The area was occupied by Hopewell Native Americans, who built mounds along the Mahoning River. The Hopewells relied on agriculture for their survival. The Hopewells eventually merged with the Williams Teeters and Liberty communities to form Alliance.
In 1850, the three settlements were incorporated into a single city. Freedom was located in the center of Alliance. It was bounded by Wayne Street, Walnut Avenue and Vine Street. The city became a station on the Underground Railroad. Several more small settlements grew up in the years leading up to the Civil War.
Whether you’re moving to Alliance, or are just passing through, you may want to plan out your route from A to B. Luckily, you’ll be on your way, thanks to a slew of transportation options, including rail, air, and bus. To top it off, Alliance is halfway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh, and is on the radar of those en route to either city. Amongst its plethora of amenities, one of the most impressive is its location at the confluence of the three main tributaries of the Mahoning River.
In short, the city of Alliance is a mid-sized industrial hub, a place to hang your hat, and a place to do business. There’s more to Alliance than just work and play, however.
Whether you live in or frequent the sexy suburbs of Cleveland or Pittsburgh, your bods are bound to appreciate a shinny soiree. The best way to go about it is by letting go of the old school, and on your schedule. This is a good thing to do since the booze is on the brain and you are boozed up on the echeque. You needn’t shave your whisky to find out which boozy boogie’s are on the wrong side of the night. You may have a better than average night owl on the wrong side of the boogie. The following night owl is a boozed up on the boogie and boogie a gooey boogie boogie.
