Center for Contemporary Arts
The mission of the Center for Contemporary Arts is to encourage, empower and inspire artists, children and the community through the arts. The Center for Contemporary Arts, a 501 (c) (3) corporation, was founded in 1989. The Center’s exhibits and community education programs serve over 26,000 individuals annually.
Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene
The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene was dedicated on Memorial Day, May 25, 2009 and opened on June 1, 2009. It is the third TSVC built and run by the Texas Veterans Land Board, under the Texas General Land Office. The cemetery’s current size is 31 acres with up to 35,000 burial plots. Before the expansion of this cemetery, there were over 3,000 plots available for burial.
