El Paso Zoo
Locally recognized as the Best Place to Take the Kiddos, the El Paso Zoo sits on 35 acres of fun and adventure. Bigger and better than ever, the El Paso Zoo is an expansive green space that is home to exotic animals from around the world and features family attractions such as the African Star Train, the Hunt Family Splash Pad, Foster Tree House Playground, and the Hunt Endangered Species Carousel.
El Paso Museum of Archaeology
The El Paso Museum of Archaeology presents 14,000 years of prehistory in the El Paso area, the greater Southwest, and northern Mexico. You’ll see dioramas and exhibits of American Indian lives and their material culture, from the Paleoindian hunters of the Ice Age to their modern descendants. The exhibits are periodically changed to reflect the scope of the Museum’s collections and the interests of the community. Special exhibits are located in the auditorium and the North Gallery. The auditorium also houses explore-able drawers of artifacts from across the US.
The Plaza Theater
As a National Historic Building of Significance, built in 1930 and restored to its original atmospheric theater splendor in 2006, the Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center is conveniently located in downtown El Paso-just a brief walk from the Judson F. Williams Convention Center and the Abraham Chavez Theatre.
