Mike Birdsong, Vice President of Information Technology
We are pleased to announce that Mike Birdsong has joined Visual Edge IT as Vice President of Information Technology for internal IT operations. Mike is based in Dallas-Fort Worth and will be a member of the company’s senior leadership team reporting to Peter Stelling, Chief Integration Officer and Chief of Staff. The Information Technology organization, previously led by John Sedlak, will now report to Mike.
As Vice President of IT, Mike will play a critical role in shaping Visual Edge IT's in-house technology vision and driving innovation across the organization. He will be responsible for all technical operations—from planning and development to implementation, maintenance, and partnering with Scott Chille on the security of our information systems. Mike will also lead new efforts to modernize and promote efficiency across our infrastructure and IT execution.
As an IT operations executive, Mike brings more than three decades of expertise in driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence across national and international landscapes. In aligning cutting-edge technology with business goals to foster innovation and the development of robust, scalable IT solutions, he has focused extensively on digital transformation, strategic planning, cybersecurity, and other associated aspects of IT.
Mike comes to Visual Edge IT from Wärtsilä, where he served as Head of Information Technology—Americas. Prior to that, he was Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Greystone Brokerage & Development; CIO for Health Choice Network; and VP of IT for Genesis Networks Enterprises. Mike attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management, where he completed the Executive Program (non-degree) for Blockchain Technologies: Business Innovation and Application. He is also a Certified Blockchain Expert, having earned his V2 Certification from the Blockchain Council.
Outside of work, Mike spends as much time outdoors as possible, whether it’s kayaking, riding jet skis and motorcycles, or heading out on overlanding trips with family and friends. He’s also a certified drone pilot and an avid movie fan, known for turning even a casual recommendation into a full film analysis. When he’s not exploring the outdoors, he enjoys discovering new local spots and making new friends, relaxing and cooking/grilling at home, and finding the next great adventure to share with those close to him.
