Cheval Florida – An Unincorporated Area in Hillsborough County, Florida

Located in Hillsborough County, Cheval Florida is an unincorporated area. Cheval is home to the University of South Florida Equestrian Team. It also boasts the TPC Tampa Bay Golf Course, the Lake Carlton Arms, and The Club at Cheval.

Home to the TPC Tampa Bay Golf Course

Located on the north end of Tampa, TPC Tampa Bay is one of the most challenging public-access courses in the area. It is also one of the few courses in the area that is located in an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

The course features Bermuda grass mounds along many of the fairways. There is also water on seventeen of the holes. This course is great for beginners and intermediate players. The greens are tight but not too fast.

TPC Tampa Bay is part of the PGA Tour Tournament Players Club network. It has been the site of numerous Champions Tour events. In 1992, the GTE Suncoast Classic will move to the TPC at Cheval. In 2010, the course was ranked as one of the top 50 public golf courses in the country by the Heritage Golf Group.
